there are 2 different camps on sponsorship for the most part...1 says stick with your sponsor & build years of history & the other is to change fairly often...I enjoy working with a different sponsor every couple of years to take me thru the steps...But if you are having trouble with your sponsor...Such as not communicating or they don't have enough time I would suggest changing...Also you need to remember that a sponsor's job is to take you thru the steps...Nothing further...If they offer more & if you want more then that is great but they are not counselors or bankers, taxi's or bail-bondsmen...Don't worry about hurting their feelings buy changing to another person...What sponsorship is about is the sponsee's sobriety...If your sponsor get's their feelings hurt because you changed then you probably did need the change...There is a pamphlet on sponsorship at most AA clubhouses...Give it a read...
